Whenever I have the opportunity to take a leisurely walk through the streets of Rome, I am in a state of bliss. I actually love the jostle and chaos of being caught up in a troop of excited tourists, but the best moments happen when I step aside and turn down a quiet street. Everything comes alive, from the welcoming little shops to unique corners that have seen the passing of time. Rome loves greenery among the stones and bricks of old buildings. Rooftop gardens are common and lovely to view from higher ground.
Enjoy some unique corners and shops that have caught my eye in passing….
Each photo has a story to tell, a book to be written, that we will never know. But as I look at them, I find myself beginning to create my own. Italy has a way of causing my mind to dream and discover what might have been. Tilted old roads, towering corners, windows like eyes that watch everything yet remain silent, doors that stand open and architecture of every kind fuel my imagination. While wandering the quiet side streets of Rome, I’ve never felt alone.
